That is me in another life, some 30 years ago. I grew up in a military family. My father was a career Navy man, his four brothers and my mother's brother all served in World War II. My sister served in the Navy for about ten years, then resigned her commission and later finished out her time in the Air National Guard. I served in the Navy Reserve (Submarine Division) for almost three years prior to enlisting in the Army for another three years. As you can see, I later served in the CHP. Following World War II, I became better acquainted with some of my father's long time shipmates who were also Commanders of LSTs during the war. These were career Navy people (all mustangs) and a greater bunch of people I have yet to meet. Along with my father, may they rest in peace. They deserve it. Richard W. "Lang" Langworthy, Skipper of LST 474. Lloyd R. "Uncle John" White, Skipper of LST 912. Leonard J. "Sam" Kelly, Skipper of LST 951. Researching information for this web site has been a truly rewarding experience. I have been in touch with crew members and families of deceased crew members. I have received a wealth of information from these people as well as from the National Archives, Military Records Center and a number of web sites dedicated to the LST. I would be happy to share any of the information with interested parties. If you or one of your relatives served on the 933, please email me. It is possible that among the pictures sent to me by crew members and their families, there is one or more of you or your relative. I received a couple pictures of my father that I didn't know existed. I have the following items in computer files available to email or print and mail: LST 933 History (1945) with extra paragraph of info sent by C.P. Graham. Paul Neel's Log Book (1944-45) Supplied by his daughter, Linda. LST 933 Itinerary (1944-46). I also have paper copies of the Deck Logs from 20 August 1944 through 31 August 1945. Additionally, I have a microfilm of the Muster Rolls that has names and dates of every person on board, including Army personnel that were being transported.
